Lia Dacosta

Lia Dacosta is born in Zadar Croatia.
After spending the first three years of her life in an orphanage in Split, she was adopted by a Belgian family.
Lia has been raised bilingually, French at home and Dutch at school.

The love for photography did not come until much later at the age of 21. She has always been passionate about history and draws her inspiration from photographs of the past.

As a portrait and fashion photographer, she likes photographs with a strong composition that exude strength and beauty. If you would describe Lia Dacosta’s work, you could say that she exudes tranquility in her photographs. Something she often looks for in daily life.

She has great admiration for the work of Bruce Weber and Irving Penn and a fascination for the 1950’s fashion photography.
